Welcome to Cheer's Flower Gardens

Cheer’s Flower Gardens was begun in 2006 by Cheerine and David Jordan. Both have a lifetime of experience in the green industry.

My name is Cheerine Jordan and I, with the help of my husband, David, own and operate Cheer’s Flower Gardens.  As a youngster I was nicknamed Cheer and have been known by that name ever since. I was born into a gardening family and have been involved with landscaping and gardening all of my life.

I grew up in a family owned business, Millcreek Gardens, in Salt Lake City. At a very young age I helped in the garden center potting plants in the spring, caring for nursery stock and helping customers. As a young adult I continued to help in the garden center in the summers and spent time planting flower beds in downtown Salt Lake City. In 1983 I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. I then worked for a period of time in the family business designing and planting residential landscapes.

David grew up on a farm in Southern Idaho. He earned a degree in Agriculture from Utah State University in 1984. We were married in 1985.  He assists in the business with pest control and innovative solutions to landscape and irrigation problems. He currently works full time as a municipal groundskeeper. 

Cheer’s Flower gardens was begun in 2006, at the behest of friends, solely to plant and care for flower beds in the harsh desert climate of St. George, Utah. We stayed exclusive to flower gardens until 2010 when mowing and yard care services were added. Dave, all 5 children, and many of their friends became involved in the business.

Both Dave and Cheer are certified Master Gardeners. Dave is a licensed Pesticide Applicator. Cheer is a certified Nursery Professional and is QWEL (Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper) Certified. The business keeps current a Contractor with LFR license with the State of Utah Department of Commerce. They are both members of the Utah Nursery and Landscape Association.
